realizations.

1. I'm over Victorian architecture, particularly the idea of superfluous doors and long dark hallways. Seeing the girl laugh with delight as she tromped about my mom's retirement community tract-house in Florida last weekend with its echo-y spaces makes me see the potential of wide open spaces.

2. I might be a little bit of a techie after all. I've been wrapped up in website/blog stuff for work and I am obsessed, too obsessed to deal with this blog, but that's okay.

3. The baby/maternity leave issues haven't been the only reason I've been a little down on my job. I've just been bored...but not today. Things are getting very interesting around here.

4. Girl is having a grand time in the "big" kids room at daycare and the whole situation feels not only do-able, but just generally good.

the little valentine.

I don't have the technology available to me at the moment to scan the Valentine that was waiting for me when I picked T. up from daycare yesterday, but here is the accompanying photo:

The tears-inducing text read: "Happy Valentine's Day. I love you Mommy and Daddy."

I know she didn't wield the Sharpie herself, but still so freaking sweet.

MMMMMammmaaaa.

I was driving down to work this morning, listening to the radio when I heard some murmuring from the back seat. The girl often "sings" along with the radio so I didn't think much about it, but when I turned down the sound, I distinctly heard "Mmmmmmammmmammmaaaaa." I prefer to think that her breakthrough with the letter "M" had nothing to do with the NPR story about Mitt Romney being a Mormon, although "Mormon" would be a pleasingly multi-culti first word for our little Jew-Bu.
